Iolani Palace is the only palace in the United States. Hawaii wasn’t a state until 1959 which really isn’t that long ago in comparison to how old most countries are (only 53 years as a state). I wish you could take photos inside the palace but it’s prohibited. I’d love to post them on this blog. Oh well.

Just found these photos of the Prince Kuhio statue I took back on March 13, 2010. I totally had forgotten about them. I think I took them when I got the iPhone 4. It was the same day I took one of my favorite “character” photos posted here.

Welcome to the new and much improved TammiHitchcock.com. Over the last while I’ve been pulling all my stuff together from all over the Internet and getting all my online “presence” focused into one place. Mostly I’m gathering my photos and creative endeavors and giving them a new home: TammiHitchcock.com.

I was so involved in being social and ubiquitous throughout the social networks that it became impossible to keep up with my own sites and network accounts as well as working on other people’s accounts.

Refocusing and renewing has been an enjoyable journey of photos and posts I haven’t looked at for a long time. This site isn’t perfect but its off to a good start. Some photos are small and (hopefully) will be replaced with larger images once I find them. For now I just wanted to get it all in one location.

Now that I’m getting something decent to show people I’m going to start posting links to posts to get people looking at things & leaving comments.

Soon I plan on including images on TammiHitchcock.com of the antique/old Hawaiian postcard collection from the 1890s through about 1924. I figure sharing them is much better than keeping them just tucked away to protect them.

Long neglected but not forgotten is my other website Foodie365. After I get this site off to a good start I’m going to try to post there more regularly again. You can check it out at Foodie365.com.

All this being said, I hope you see things that make you smile or spark some imagination and I’d love it if you’d leave a comment or 2.

Enlightened

Saw this on an abandoned building while I was out walking today. I know it’s graffiti but it has artistic quality to it & I thought it was cool enough to take a picture of. Not sure what it symbolizes but it makes me think of the words enlightened or intuitive. Do you know what it means?

It’s true. You never know what you’ll find people doing in Waikiki. Tonight while walking the dogs some neighbors and I spotted this dude juggling with fire on the beach.

His name is Edwin Bond, is an adventurer, Producer, and he’s walking across America. Here’s a link to the website about the adventure: The Great American Walkabout.

Bird Of Paradise flowers really are as beautiful as their photographs. They’re like showgirls on stage. A friend has a nice big BOP bush in her front yard &. I snapped this photo after visiting yesterday.
